Yeah, great gig. Looknig forward to getting the mp3s from the metallica vault, when they come out (probably tomorrow/Weds...).

When I saw them in Earl's Court in 2004/2005(?) I found it funny that they didn't play anything from Load/Reload...and again last night they played loads of the early stuff. Hooray!

highlight....hmmm, Jaymze goatee ;o)

Loved the fireworks/explosions on One.

Just wish I'd been nearer the stage to see all the different guitars they were playing. But can't complain - I got the ticket at the last minute!

I'm glad they did 'No Leaf Clover'
Got in about 1.30 this morning. In work at 8................was it worth it.....................YEP.
Yea, No Leaf Clover was a welcome change. Not something they play too often, but glad they did.

I left at 7am Sun and got in at 4am this morning. Worth every second! Wouldnt have minded some stuff from Load like Until It Sleeps, but I got no complaints at all about the set. Blackened would have been a personal fave but again I'm not moaning. All the songs they played were ace and got everyone going.

I think LiveMetallica.com will have the full set as MP3s on there soon but for $10. Still worth it, better free though As mentioned in last post, wouldnt have minded some songs like Blackened and Until It Sleeps but I think the set was brilliant. Metallica could play for twice as long as they did last night and still miss out a few tracks that I like.

Yea, James' goatee was pretty comical! My mate text me when he saw him on the Live Earth thing asking why James had come as Father Christmas!

The One pyro was good (especially when the first ones went off and bust the left hand side screen of the group of 4) but I though Orion was fantastic, especially with Robs bass solo prior to it. Playing Puppets and Battery back to back nearly killed me too. Getting a breath was just as hard as staying upright as I got launched right into the thick of things there. Wouldnt have changed it though, loved it all.

James played his usual chequer plate style black guitar quite a bit and Kirk mostly used his Ouija board one. Rob played the silver bass with blue flames on for most of the set. There were a few others but I cant remember them to be honest.

For anyone who went, or is interested in this concert, you should check out the photos on the official Ross Halfin website. Well worth a look.

2 new Metallica songs played live at various dates on their latest tour. Trujillo has already said that the songs will be broken down and only parts kept for the new album, but Jesus, they actually played these live. I wonder what they'd make of themselves if they could hear their new songs from St.Anger and more recent when they were in their mid 20's
