Sorry to hear about this - and what a pain in the butt. Its happening all over the world too. In the last months my mums place was flooded in NZ. Inlaws lost their crops to hail storms in DK.... mother nature isnt happy.

Hey- sorry to hear this. I don't think, over the coming years, that this sort of weather is going to be a rare occurence any more. I reckon house prices up hills are going to rise!
All this rain is starting to cause my bike havoc again- as covers have been out of stock, it's been standing out in the elements overnight. Was knocking and stalling and losing power again today. God I hope the covers will be back in stock soon.... Bloody Motrax! |

I suppose global warming will be blamed again...instead of the real reason. Local councils neglecting maintenance and upgrading of the drainage systems for 90+ years. All the road building and housing thats gone up over that time lessens the drainage quality of the land so it all runs off. The old system just can't cope. Add to that the fact that housing is very often built on river flood-plains and you've got a recipe for disaster.
You have our sympathies Daryl...hope you get sorted soon. |

thedonal.....
Look at it this way, summer = warm = stand pipes and usually little rain. Winter = cold = lots of storms and rain. Therefore global warming = standpipes not storms and rain. Global warming is full of contradiction mate! ![]() |

Rotten luck I feel very lucky to live where I do at the moment.
I spent my weekend with very little sleep manning our Emmergency Operations Centre due floods. Had hundereds of houses affected and roads blocked making very difficult to get to people. Worse thing was the complete mindless morons who either visited to see what was going on or just insisting on getting to their party or whatever and blocking roads irrespective of the poor sods who were just trying to evacuate. An on top of all that my biggest daily moan - 4Xeffin4's driven by cretins ploughing through the water making waves and thus increasing the misery for residents, then the moronic idiots get stuck. ![]() ![]() ![]() My sympathy and good wishes to all those that have had to be evacuated or dealing with flooded homes. Very upsetting for you - chin up ![]() |
