When I see that weather forecast I have to admit to being tempted. Maybe I'll just turn up with jeans on, that usually makes be feel vulnerable enough to bimble.

Go for it Col'. I'll be looking to maintain a good, but legal pace on the whole. There's plenty of twists etc on these roads, so if you carry 60 through some of those, you shouldn't get bored - indeed you could give yourself a good scare. Perhaps jeans is taking things a bit far........

OK, I'll be there, so long as there's no sign of a baby!

I can just see this coming though - The first rideout where we have a pact to stick to the speed limits..... and we'll get pulled by the cops for random checks!

Well folks,

I went and done the rideout today. No problems to speak of. Q's dad (6 accompanied me on this one and we experienced varying weather & road conditions.

When we left Cumbernauld, it was dulll, miserable and mizzle. The wind was strong on the M73 & M74, but once we got to Uddingston, the roads were already bone dry.

The rain got half way serious a few miles north of Moffat, but the sun had been working wonders in Biggar earlier. Once we descended into Moffat itself, again bome dry and bright. A nice cheap lunch at the Rumblin' tum and we moved on.

Again the weather was fine and the road surface along the A708 (St Marys Loch) was on the whole very good. Any patches of gravel were very limited and easy to spot. They were all off (my) line too. The wildlife behaved itself too, with everything staying sat in or by the road just as it was on approach. Nice one.

Our next encounter with the drizzle was at Peebles, but again it cleared quick enough. Easties & Westies will part here after picking up fuel at the BP station at the roundabout.

The run back up to the west was also good for the most part. Westies - you can expect to get back around 4.30. Easties - that depends on your return route & destination.

See you all in the morning.

Garry
