How long do people on here keep their lids for?

I kept my Shoei for near on 3 years when the cheek pads deformed and it stopped fitting me properly, I retired it and got myself an Arai.

I think the time period is to do with the UV rays from the sun degrading the outer shell. I've also read it says that if you use your lid everyday then you oughta replace it after 3 years, but I've also read that it can be stretched to 5 years if you ride at weekends etc.

I know that Arai will check your lid if you're worried about it, but apart from that I dont know much more about the technicalities of it.

I always keep my gloves in my lid, But I make sure I do em up first so that they velcro dont catch on the lining.

I always get 2 new lids at the bmf tail end show .............
