My mate got knocked off his Fazer on monday.. He got a flat tyre, spent ages waiting for recovery.. Went and got a new tyre fitted then 2 mins later was off. Car cut him up, grabbed front brake and then ground/sky/ground. He is ok, got 2 broken fingers and just cuts and bruises. Looks like the end of the Fazer apparantley. And... it was his birthday...

He has only been riding one month! Seems like everybody is coming off
Serves him right for bailing on our last trip to Brighton.....only joking

The weather hasn't really 'turned' yet, so we cant blame it for the recent increase in crashes. New rider though, so typically(not always) poorer obs and he might be riding the bike like hes driving a car.

More importantly did he get the cars details? Or is he left carrying the fault? How is he insurance wise....fully comp hopefully.

He is fully comp but didn't get details of the driver. Two witnesess interview by police but they didn't get the drivers reg number either so he has to pay the excess and claim off his own insurers

Thats a real ******* that is!

Its compounded by him being such a new rider, his insurance is going to cost a fortune.

What about his gear...is that covered in his insurance? If not he'll be out of pocket for that as well.

The only saving grace is thats his injuries arn't too bad.

If the police can guarantee he's not at fault, he might be able to get some £'s back...from that organisation, whose name i forget.

That may be so, but the colder weather, lower light levels and busyer roads (now everyone is back from holiday) is definately contributing to the number of accidents. I have had so many more people pull out in front of me and nearly knock me off in the last week than I have had in the last 3 months.

Maybe everyone is just pi**ed that winter is coming and are therefore being a little bit more aggressive/stupid when they are commuting.

I could make it over your way, not too far for me to ride. My bike has had its first service but I won't be going mad, I'm new rider, let know.
