I'll give it a whirl. Do they take a lot of hits?

I have to quit playing Bio, it's started to make me feel sick. It's just like motion sickness, had the same feeling when I have played other FPS's.
![]() Good job I didn't pay for it ![]() |

I enjoyed (a while ago) System Shock 2. What a cracker! Play with no lights in the dark room and you will see what I mean.
Now I don't play much. However we could organise some SV650.org tournament on-line couldn't we? I suggest maybe online Call of Duty? Anyone fancies it? |

Yep, got my PC copy of this on release, even though my 3 year old rig just aint up to scratch any more (Athlon 64 3500+, 1GB RAM, GF6800GT).
Thing about Bioshock that impresses me so much, quite apart from the insanely good optimisation when combined with the new beta nVidia drivers, is the quality of the art design. This is a game that shows that attention to detail, the atmosphere created, the use of sound, the storytelling, the imagination...all adds up to a great game. I can't tell you how much of a chore Doom 3 was, despite looking awesome. I love how different the world in this game feels, even though I have to experience it on Medium to Low detail. Was the same with STALKER, the atmosphere more than made up for some clunkiness. Bioshock stands up there with Deus Ex and Morrowind as my fav. games of all time, all notable for their ability to suck you in with art design and well thought out worlds rather than the highest polygon counts. This, of course, is the game itself. Don't like the whole Securom/activation crap, but once done am enjoying the game very much. Got to a couple of levels before the end a few weeks ago, have since not had time to finish. Did Hephaestus last I think. Also, game does suffer slightly from console dumbing down, but not nearly as badly as Deus Ex: Invisible War. SPOILER (don't read further unless you've completed Medical Pavilion) . . . . . . . . . . Best moment for me, apart from the Fort Frolic level, was the medical room full of fog/dry-ice in Medical Pavilion (I think). It was beyond a room you could get into by jumping through the glass, but there was a turret in there. You go in, explore, see the tonic on the desk (with a teddy bear on it I think), pick it up. Why can't I turn around....I can't move....what's going on....spin around.....Jesus Christ!!!!!!!! I nearly had a heart attack! |
