It makes a difference to the premium, as if it gets nicked the insurers may have to pay out a higher sum. They'd rather your C90 got nicked than your nice new MV Augusta, as they'd have to pay a lot less. As ever, these potential extra costs are passed on to you in the form of a higher premium. I've not found it makes a mega difference though, and valuing your bike a few hundred quid up or down is unlikely to break the bank.

I always value it more than its actually worth, since they will try and knock you down on price if you bin it, or nicked etc.
i find the value doesnt really affect the premium price at all. I have a bike valued at 2000 when its only worth 600..... tried another qoute at 600 which was just the same as 2000 |
