Afternoon all.

If the spacer is missing then you have the garage by the proverbial short & curlies. Please tell the forum who they are so they can be avoided.
There's no way the spacer could have dropped out, so it looks as if the spindle has been replaced without it being there.

Cheers.

On the pointy the spindle has a shoulder that formed the spacer on the right hand side, not sure if the curvey is the same.

I'm thinking it looks more like an exploded wheel baring. Perhaps.

I'm kind of hoping that these photo's prove that a Spacer is definitely missing.

I've been very careful not to mention who the Garage is just yet just in case there is some innocent explainable reason. But don't you worry.. as soon as I get their official report I shall be naming and shaming them.

Afternoon all.

The Curvy has a separate spacer in the fork leg & a smaller diameter spindle, totally different to the Pointies one.
The Pointies system is much better.

Cheers.

First thought when I saw the pic. Spacer missing from the right hand side. Absolutely criminal negligence if it is!

That's 'kin shocking, In case you don't have a fische

Did you provide the parts or did they sort it? If it was you, pound to a penny they'll claim it was your fault for not giving them everything.

luckily I didn't provide any parts. Basically I got knocked off my bike back in June, and only a few weeks ago did the driver finally admit liability so that I could get the repairs done via my insurance company.

Thanks for the fische by the way. hopefully I won't need to use it.. we'll see.

Well be reasonable when you go back but explain that they are putting this right, quickly, with new parts, out of their pocket or you will be taking them to court. At a glance that would mean a new RHS brake disk, possibly a new RHS fork lower. I'd be surprised if neither fork stanchion was bent, but you may get lucky on that one. The whole front end needs to come off and be inspected carefully to know for sure.

Oh and they owe you a spacer, don't let them wriggle out of that

What I can't believe is anyone calling themselves a mechanic not wondering why the thread end of the spindle pretruded so much.

Tell your insurance as well, if they were doing this on their dollar then they'll not be too chuffed.
