That must be from Buses then? Just compounds my hatred for public transport, unreliable, expensive and now dangerous too!

Glad to hear you and your bike are OK!

Yeah, in Edinburgh be careful around where buses hang out- Charlotte Square, Heriot Watt/Park and Ride, Longstone, the Gyle. It's not that they drop a lot of diesel, it's that there's millions of them so it adds up. They're VERY good for cleaning it up, I reported a big spill one day that I'd found on the way to work (funnily enough, at the big heriot watt roundabout) and by 5pm it was gone. That's about all they can do really...

Glad to hear you're OK though. I think Scooby Drew stacked his SV in the exact same place once... Then he moved onto bigger and more spectacular crashes

Maybe, maybe not. When you walked back you saw the diesel, could you gave seen it on approach and avoided the spill?

I'm not critising or having a go in the slightest, far from it. Just pointing out that from every spill there maybe something positive to be learned from the bad experience.

So many things to watch out for: car drivers changing lanes or pulling out of side roads, kamikaze pedestrians, mad cyclists, pheasants darting across, manhole covers, potholes, white lines, diesel, etc. It's a wonder we don't have more wipe-outs. Glad you're okay. Can you make a claim against the council for the repairs?
Jon.
