the v twin is supposed to get the power down easier, the gixer would prob be pointing skywards most of that.

Yeah sorry im on about the 900cc model that my friend has. At 80mph though, it'll pull on the SV, but its about the same as my 650 Bandit to about 120 (leptons per hour, not mph, as thats illegal
![]() I'd believe an SV can keep with a GSX thou up to 60mph. On bikes you get there so quickly, and the SV is geared so short. You need to be up in the rev band on the IL4, which makes it harder to get the power down. On the SV, power is instantly there, and looses out top revs. But your through 1st and into 2nd so quickly, 60mph really takes no time at all. Its after that u'd loose out in every way ![]() |

SVthou might not have record breaking power but it does have a LOT of torque from the start 50Ftlb of torque at tickover! (of not far off)... So that is why it pulls to 60MPH so hard.
I have heard that a SVthou will out accelerate the 02 model Gixxer thou to a tonne! Madness aye! |

You'l only need one on a gsxr1000 though. I'm sure if these were put in the hands of a racer, with a few days to get used to the bike the gsxr would whoop the SV

I've had 1400's that rip your arms off and go like stink anytime you want but my next bike might be a 250. Speed and 'power' don't reflect that much on whether I'm enjoying a bike. So what if the Buell might be slower than his 650, if you enjoy riding it that's the thing.
