I can't cope (maybe I'm getting old !!) with all this "this type of bike is for youngsters" & "that type of bike is for old people"

Ok, so I ride a mildy modified naked SV1000 & a BMW R1200 GS - am I young ? (God I wish !!) or old ? (God forbid !!)

Both are quick bikes - I would also describe myself as a 'quick' rider as opposed to 'fast' - both give me the giggles from time to time - the only difference is that I can ride the BMW at <information withheld on the advice of my lawyer> mph all day long in relative comfort whilst still returning 40+ mpg whereas I would struggle to ride the SV for more than about 2 hrs at any sort of speed without a break.

PS. Paul - I've decided to do away the blue touchpaper for the time being - it only serves to give people warning - from now on I intend to count from 10 to 1 very quickly & then just let rip !!

Just an unpdate and thanks again.

Dad loves his new BM naturally, must say think its pretty smart, but unfortunately last night due to the sleet and bad roads up our way I had a spill and have buggered my bike!

Hopefully won't cost the earth to fix (everything costs more in Aberdeen for some reason) and the Docs gave me the all clear- I landed on my head( I knew it would be ok if I hit that!) and then I can get back out on the road.

Cheers

Chris
