Cool Re: Knock Knock....

Errrrrrrrr.... Guys, I have a K6 which I've done 1700 miles on and it has knocked over sudden bumps since day one but there's no play in the head bearings. I put it down to the naff suspension.

Mine has 300 miles on the clock and its done it since day 1.

I'm not worried though, its usually a fairly hefty bump/hole that does it.

(It coincides with the bumps/holes that turn off the car radio, actually)

I had the same from (nearly) new, seem to remember it being "standard". I have now emulators and ther is no knock, and I have done nothing to the head bearings.

I'm guessing it's fne, but do the checks as described because it can't hurt.

I think it might be the forks bottoming out either way (extension or retraction...) only a guess, mine does it.

I spent a long time tracking down the knock on my curvey forks and found it was the preload spacer tube banging on the inside of the fork tubes because it's not a tight fit. I put a synthetic o ring ( oil resistant ) around the bottom of the preload tube and the knock has disappeared.
