Aldi’s are doing one for £14.99 which is cheaper than the new boards cost me. But it has sentimental value

Mine has just been replaced with Ply and the old one used as a template.

Might just do that.
Cheers for the headsup Tam, good price and might have a go for that if I'm passing but I have a feeling they'll be £15's worth of wobble.

New bearings going on the Bike trailer. One side has definitely gone, and i may as well replace the other side at the same time as I got an axle repair kit.

Needed some tressles which are overpriced for something you can make yourself so went to buy one of these to use instead - Aldi had somewhat predictably sold out but I was pleased to find Wickes did one for £20 - cheers for putting it in my head.

Replaced a load of rotten joists today

Today I have mostly been tinkering with... coffee. I do like a coffee mid-morning and have recently inherited my late father-in-law's bean grinder - an ancient manual machine that obviously broke sometime decades ago that he then mended with a new housing made out of plywood. He did it pretty well as its not the most consistent grind but its not bad.

After many cups of quite duff brown liquid I gave up guessing, bought some digital scales, watched some YouTube videos by James Hoffman (quite relaxing and highly recommended), and today finally managed to make a really nice brew.

Yes, I know, a bit middle aged and, dare I say, a bit of a middle class/first world tinker, but very satisfying.

Today was spent taking off the forks in preparation for new seals and K-tec
Springs, left leg came apart like a dream, right leg is going to need the o'l broom handle trick to get the bottom bolt out! Wife wouldn't let me cannibalise the yard broom so I'll have to buy one to sort it.
BTW peeps.... a couple of lame questions.... the washer that goes under the fork seal is 'dished' is it supposed to be dished UP (like a plate) or dished DOWN like an ( upside down plate)?
Second lame question.... what rubber seal assembly grease do peeps use on here? There seems to be literally dozens to choose from, is there any one make that stands out? I have a Halfrauds close to me, do they sell a decent grease?

New chain fitted on the DRZ. Just in time for a test ride .. to be cancelled by a torrential hailstorm that came out of nowhere and ruined the sunny day we were having. Bike back in garage and try again tomorrow.

There's always another day, you can't control the weather. At least you're ready to embark on another adventure once the sun is up.
I'm currently waiting for the motorcycle brakes and handlebars that I bought on 4wheelonline.

I got a pair of plastic tressles /saw horses from Lidl I think it was. I made the mistake of putting my foot on one to steady it while sawing and it broke. I use them as support for a ply table top now in the garage. OK for about £14 I suppose, just don't press your foot on the plastic cross member !
