If Hargreaves doesn't deserve his place then Beckham surely doesn't!!! He was woeful. The guy is supposed to be the best passer of the ball yet hardly any of his passes went to man. Least Hargreaves is willing to work for his place.

England need a big time change, they need to be coached to win not just to compete.

Swiss and Tara...I totally accept your points of view but must stress that every team needs a grafter to allow the more expansive players to be released. A prime example of that is Makelele for Chelsea. Xavi Alonso for Liverpool and Spain.

Hargreaves is never going to bring you a taste of Samba flair but he will bring you a disciplined performance and a high work ethic. How many of the squad can do that?

Tara's worse nightmare(James) could happen unless Robinson takes more command of his area. A great shot stopper but last night woefull in dealing with anything from the sides.

Why on earth were we placing a total non header of the ball marking the near post target man for the first goal? Plus Beckham was stood behind the Swedish player?

That position requires an aggresive header of the ball and someone who is not afraid to take a bang in doing so.

But hey 50 million of us would pick a totally different England team wouldn't we? That Sven what does he know? Pah! :P

Every team does need a grafter, I agree I'm just not 100% he's it, and the newspaper which described him as the best play was The Sun, hardly the most credible of sources now is it.
As I said he had an average game and certainly didn't show himself up.

Odd comment...someone said that the Swedish coach gets the same in a year as Sven makes in a week. VFM it ain't.

But he's been the Sweden coach for years,you don't think he's worth the salary then?

Thanks for ignoring Portugal, we really appreciate it. :P Now now, there's no need to refresh some memories about a certain game... I believe it was some 6 years ago... when a crappy little team from the western europe coast taught the mighty England how to turn a game around... To this day I still believe David Seaman doesn't even know where the first goal came from. :P
