The lens would be ok for general shots I guess but not so good in low light. Sun rise was good this morning, light mist and frost. Shame I didn't have more time. Picked up a Halina 35x junker to repair the aperture on the first 35x I wrecked. 99p

Interesting looking thing, again I didn't know Minolta did folders. Haven't seen a single Certo like ours listed. Need to finish that film sometime soon.

I guess the VF needs a lens so it's hardly ideal, but it's based on another camera so maybe possible to sort something out

Am thinking of getting a half frame MF to see if it works better than 6x6. As I (typically!) want a rangefinder it cuts things down a bit. Still would like a Mamiya Six, some of them do dual format. my Certo does but haven't got the mask - maybe I should just rig up something with the 6x6 mask and try it. They are (all) rare cameras, I think when I got my Certo I checked ebay for sold prices and I found maybe one, and I doubt it was exactly the same version. Nice little piece of history.

So you want to make it 6x4.5 then? Currently doing some surgery on a duff Ricoh Auto half. Seems to be jammed at the mo.

Thinking of trying it as maybe I don't get on with 6x6. It's the same as yours in that it's already got the windows for 4.5x6, but I don't have the proper mask, or any of the other bits it would have come with e.g. for plates. It has a knob on the viewfinder, you twist it and it puts a mask in place to make it match the narrower format.

Found the problem with the the Ricoh. The shutter actuation lever is broken. Will need to fabricate a replacement or wait for another junker to come along. Will take a peep in my box of many spares!

Prob will have to wait a while but would really like to tinker more. I got an iphone a while back and transferring the images to PC is a PITA so got around to it the other day and filed a few of camera repairs. I was surprised how many folders I had to make for the different ones! Need to send Xmas cards and wrap presents etc. for now. But my mountain bike wheel is da bomb (if I can say that in my mid-40s), so smoooooooooooth. Shifter still busted though.
