is there usually a big recruitment phase around april every year? Although you can't transfer directly I'm sure the experience from the scottish police would carry alot of relevance towards a fresh application wish a british force?

Some forces do accept Scottish Transferees but none in the area that I am looking at.

It may be the only way I can do it. Resign up here and then apply down there. Would mean a large drop in salary and also the loss of the security of being out of my probation and it would mean a lot of hard work again, and a lot of repeated studies, ie, Road Traffic Act, Misuse of Drugs Act, etc etc etc.

MBK - surely you would need to repeat your studies if you transferred anyway because of the differences? ( just being DA today and having fun)

Q - Yeah, there would be a lot of legislation I would have to learn but there is also a lot of it that is the same in England/Wales as it is in Scotland. IE - RTA1988 and MDA1971.

GG - the good news is that none were british account they were all Swiss ( thankfully)
