Make sure you get the air out of the system when you do the water, don't over fil it, or it could over heat and have a little wee on your patio...like suzy did

course the oil go down.. as it settles in the sump. Don't do the mistake I made by overfilling and thus making the clutch cover weep oil through one of the bottom bolts.

No I've left the top off and have squeezed the tubes etc to disperse air.

No the oil's been sat there for about a month (I know I should have drained it) and it seems to have gone down little by little

Is there a big puddle on the floor? There is nowhere for it to go if there is no visible leak.

If you can't see a big hole in the crankcase then chances are it's fine.

Put a board under the bike and see if you can spot where the drips are. However to see a marked difference in oil level is a LOT of oil, it will be a puddle not just drips.

Yeah but I was thinking drips while the engine off might be floods when the engine's running. Ah well I'll come to that hurdle later.

Down on the left hand side of the bike, just above the clutch cover, if memory serves- it's combined with the sidestand cutout, the easiest way to find it is to follow that wire I reckon.

Cheers, is it easy to replace? I've got to swap it for an LED indicator friendly one. Will go have a look now ...
