How about "Oh, well spotted Ralph, thanks, I'll go fix it", is that too difficult?
No one is arguing about the route. Ralph sums it up above. Questions are being asked but people seem to be taking things a little too personally.

I've just read through the last 5 pages of this thread.

I haven't read that anyone's asked to change the route or do it differently at all - that would be arguing about the route.

From what I've read it's just people trying to be helpful or requests for clarification - simple as that.

Ralph asked some questions that he was unsure about that's all. He said all the pleasantries like please, smilies etc but it's been taken the wrong way. I know him so I can imagine how he would put it if it were face to face.

For my part, I admitted being hasty earlier in the thread about needing to know the route but I retracted this and cleared up the misunderstanding privately with Abby. That that particular matter as far as I'm concerned is closed.

I took a couple of days holiday to do the route for myself and gave a heads up about the roadworks. I thought I was being helpful but it appears not. I've re read what I wrote and I don't see anything in it that could be taken as "arguing about the route".

A couple of people pm'd me recently saying they felt negative feeling and less excited about this year's gm and reading about the "arguing" is putting a dampner on it. It definitely should not be like that for anyone. The GM is about fun!

The digs and negative comments are really not neccessary or doing any good. I don't want to have a bad impression or feel negative towards anyone and I certainly don't want to meet someone for the first time disliking them because of something written on here.

We scots are famous for our friendliness and hospitality so lets keep it that way.

I personally think the route is outstanding and special praise to Abby for her efforts.

↲So fuel will not be available the man says. Better get it a little further along the road at Lix Toll then. I think there's an awful lot of worrying going on. We're not riding through Africa or Nepal.

No, you have got that completely wrong Ralph

The delay was some daft beggar getting diesel out of his bike

Although that actually didn't take long, it was getting rid of the tainted fuel that took the time. Who'd have thought you couldn't give away 17 litres of diesel in Scotland :

What I'm understand is that the roadworks in Aberfeldy are moving then as the petrol was available when we last went up. so Its always good to know that things have change.
the bridge works @ st Fillans should be okay - the first stop is only 40 something miles so a split shouldn't be too disaterous(fingers crossed) and when we went past last week they were quick. The convoy systems are new. May go have a last check tomorrow.

Digs and negative comments - there has been an awful lot of this going on both on forums and by PM. I'm not naming names or pointing elbows BUT opinions are just that if you disagree with someone, you disgaree. We are all adults.
I've not been an angel however I do like to do things in a planned a prepped timeline. There a numerous things going on in the background and sometimes the help can be a hinder because it has already been thought about and slotted in somewhere else. Saying that does not mean we are not ungrateful for the help that those not in the group have put in.

If we are to retain the Fun element I so hope that England don't win!

with 2 weeks to go - lets focus on who's going to put diesel in the bikes, who's dancing with who at eth drovers, who's bringing the marshmallows for the fire and who the first person to be told to be quiet and everything else that makes the GM memorable over and above the roads.

Stuarty, wife says if you want to do gm, she'll do bon jovi, even told me in which order

Also apologies if my reply to your roadwork report came across badly, it wasn't meant to, (and knowing me you should know that) I was trying to belay any concerns it may have raised with our southern brethern, as there the helo threat is quite real. I didn't realise you were talking about the sunday run, my bad, i knew about the aberfeldy roadworks, but to be fair the dukes pass has been like a building site access road for a while now.
