I'm off to see Stewart on Monday Gary. I've got the week off so that's one day sorted straight off. Felt very nice turning on the Out of Office notice and powering down (almost) on time this afternoon for a change too.

Weather was nice today, although traffic was terrible. I've run out of coffee beans and as Morrisons only stock mass produced stuff which is stale well before you buy it I have taken to picking random independent roasters and riding off to them when I get the chance. Missing Bean in the southern suburbs of Oxford was today's destination. Big queue outside (good sign) and very sensibly they have one of their single origins available on batch brew, which is way closer to my brew-at-home method of French Press than the usual shot of espresso-based Americano you get in most coffee shops. Very nice it was too, so I bought a couple of bags. Only shame of the day was the funfair set up in central Thame which is where I usually stop for a pee on the way home...

Trev, i have heard Perla coffee is meant to be good and they're not too far from you.
They have an in house coffee bar where you can tell them your tastes, and they recommend/create a blend for you.

Oddly enough Per'La in Newbury is already on my list of future Roastery Rideouts. If the weather is nice in a couple of weeks time, and the gritters are still in their depots, I may well give them a go. It's getting close to Hugh's annual hibernation so it may be the last one of the year.

I've fairly recently moved to a company called Tikki Tonga for my coffee, they're run and owned by the former England rugby captain Brad Barritt. I suppose I'm a bit biased by the whole Saracens supporter thing, but I've found the coffee excellent and really do recommend it.

I'll put it on the list to try Chris. One of the positives of lockdown and the whole working from home malarkey is I get to take ten minutes of a morning to come downstairs, grind some beans and make a nice brew. It's a nice habit to have and I've enjoyed trying different beans from different roasters. Even better when you can use it as a nice excuse for a ride out too.

Bore da pawb/good morning all.

Grey, damp, and cool here. Made it out on the bike for a quick sortie into Welshpool yesterday afternoon when it was sunny, but I think the bike will be staying put today.

The heating has cut in. Last week it was sweltering hot and I was worried about sunburn on the noggin...
