I got a 4 with the Jupiter 8.
Is that changing film speed or shutter speed?

Shutter speed. This applies to any camera when the film speed dial moves with the film advance. Go to Butkus and download a manual and read before trying to use. Also, the take up spool on the 4 isn't fixed, so when you take the back off it can drop out.
Was it a black or silver Jupiter?

Yeah, pretty sharp, not sure why I haven't shot with it more. I have the black Jupiter on both of mine.

I'm selling an overrated milk frother that came with a coffee machine. That will pay for the Zorki ~ in my mind anyway.
How did you meter? Sunny 16, hand held or another camera?

Sunny 16 I think. I tend to use the light meter app now for most things. Have you got it already?

Haven't got either the camera or the app.
Zorki should arrive later in the week so there's that and the Rocky stuff to come.
Windows phone is a bit limited for apps - I'll see if there's anything for metering.

Waaayyyy back early in this thread, Johnny posted something about building a shutter tester. Any chance of some pics or list/diagram of how to build one?

Well the Certo plates and mask arrived, and while the plates do fit (plate holders, all empty), the mask is too small by maybe a centimetre in height. Maybe it's meant for a 116 or 127 or whatever camera. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Kenzie does yours have a removable back for plates? Forgotten how many of these you have.

Note in the latter he uses an LED as the light source, I just use a spot lamp. It works fine for leaf shutters, for curtain shutters there is too much light coming at to the phototransistor at an angle, so using a laser (e.g. spirit level, pointer etc.) circumvents that problem. I use a single AAA battery, because the AA holder from Maplin is actually too tight a fit for a real AA. I would have to get it out to check the values of the capacitor and resistor, they don't need to be exactly right. I tried to use the headphone plug from a cheap pair of ear buds but the "wire" inside is a single strand and some string so it doesn't snap! Had to chop up a patch lead instead - may as well have bought a jack plug from Maplin after all.
