Any tips on sorting the clutch cover anyone? I'm going to attempt it in 5 minutes. I'm guessing the course of action should be, undo all the bolts round the edges, pull off, clean oil off, apply hermadite (or whatever its called), plonk back on and torque? up.

Remove it, clean it and place it on a level surface to see if its warped or not.

When you go to refit it be careful not to overtighten the bolts, this is a common cause of oil leaks, they should only be tightend to 10Nm. Most of mine is held together with silicone sealent, it has a slight warp.

Clean that side of the engine with degreaser, run the engine and look for any signs of a leak.

have you been overtightening or even undertightening those bolts on the clutch casing, Looks like mine actually, but mines been leaking for months, just need chris to put some silicone sealant on mine to hopefully remedy it.
The alternator plug? have you had that one out? i had a crack in the plug after a certain person that lives indoors put an impact driver through it, and put a hairline in it. i didn't realise it was leaking, thus starving my front cylinder of oil and having to replace the cylinder head.....grrrrrr.

edit, like Dave says the clutch bolts are a common problem,

There doesn't seem to be anything at all there that a bit of sealant will not sort.

edit, like Dave says the clutch bolts are a common problem,
I overtightened them a coupleo f days ago before talcing to see if it would remedy the leaking (smart move I know ). The clutch case cover looks completely flat, if it's warped at all it's minimal. The alternator plug I had removed (was scared to death I'd cross threaded it as it didn't look flush) but I've took it out and it looks okay, so does the rubber seal. Think I'll just red hermatite the clutch cover if it's suitable? And can I do the same on the alternator plug? I'm going to either replace or re expand the copper crush washers on the top timing plug thing and the oil drain bolt.
The oil was extremely black (when in a mass in the tub) to say it had only done 6 minutes tick over and revving on it Unless maybe I hadn't completely drained the oil properly last time.

Any decent silicone sealant will do the job.
