I originally bought my 7R because I wanted to do some continental trips but didn't fancy the madness of doing it on an unfaired bike.

We had a bloke on last year's run to Lille (of all places) who did it on a Ducati Hypermotard. If it hadn't been for frequent breaks because of the thimble-like tank he'd have been in agony by the end.

I ended up re-organising my packing so there was more to go in the tank bag. It acted as a wind break. Which was more than welcome.

But yes, doing 110 for 50 or 60 miles does strain the old neck a bit.

+1. Doing the Nurburgring trip last year without even a fly screen on the Hornet was painful towards the end of each 120 mile stint. My mate on his Blackbird insisted on doing 110mph all the way there so I just had to keep up. The swine.

No, change of plans.
They can't supply me a K9 until Jan/Feb so I have cancelled the order due to seeing something else I like.
Funnily enough, the bike I am getting now is one I was looking at whilst waiting for the insurance company to make a decision. When they did, the bike had been sold. However, I have found another one at even less than the first. OK, so it's not a K9 but in the naked variety I like the K8........

Its a black K8 naked..........pre registered on 31 Oct so lots of tax left (they did 12mths), and pretty much the same warranty etc less a couple of months.

All for £3299.00

Of course I will be getting a cowl and hugger asap but still the price is great, at least I am happy anyway.

I should be collecting tomorrow so a trip to Frith could be in order. I have a couple of bits for David anyway.

Sounds nice - could be a tad windy though couldn't it.

Yes - I am a wimp when it comes to long journeys with the wind in my face..
