Re: Vintage film cameras
I've just been reading this. Some interesting stuff and pics http://rangefinderchronicles.blogspot.co.uk/
Don't know if you guys have come across it before. I only found it through a football related twitter post weirdly enough. Hmm it's about time I went back to Japan - and the in-laws live in Suzuki town. |

Re: Vintage film cameras
There were a few posts on that blog about Japan, which got me yearning.
Off to pick up a parcel later. Should be the Zorki. |

Re: Vintage film cameras
Found my 4K at last. Need to group what is in the crates better! Got a bid in on a Lomo (branded Zenit) LC-A. It has a stuck shutter but may be fixable.

Re: Vintage film cameras
The guy in the blog I linked last night was using one of those Lomos. I'm guessing they are mainly mechanical so hope it's fixable.
My stuff isn't well organised at all. Don't know how you and Johnny manage - you've both got masses more than me, and much more variety. |

Re: Vintage film cameras
I have 20 max, but they are in drawers etc. I have two small camera bags, they're packed though, not for actually taking anywhere, and a got a larger Sacar-type case for Christmas, but not got around to putting anything in it. 3 or 4 cameras want fixing and selling. I am after only one or two specific things now, the GAS has mainly receded! The bits I got lately for the Certo are for completeness, it's a fairly rare old camera so wanted to put back together the things it would have come with as new. That and try 645 MF. Anyway, when I want to shoot some film, my usual choice is, what needs fixing then I'll try it out? Says something about most of my collection! I'd love a week off to just get through a few things, for example the parallax comp (moving framelines) on my Konica S need adjusting for close-up but otherwise it works 100% - loads of small jobs like that as well as a few overhauls. I do like a tinker.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Problem is, I now have so many that some I have had for at least a year and not shot with. I estimate only 30 or so out of 100+. Not much more I want tbh but how many times have I said that before! If you like to tinker, my Perkeo has a hesitant shutter if left for too long!

Re: Vintage film cameras
The Zorki arrived. Cased, nice condition and the lens is crystal clear. The numbers on the dials are tiny and only imprinted into the metal. Will need glasses to read those.
I've emailed Rocky to see what's happening there. |
