I'm not sure about the top capacitor. Could you try touching the terminals of a new capacitor to the solder joint of the top one to see if that frees the shutter? At least that way you'll know if it needs replacing. I think it's a fine camera and yours looks in good overall condition so well worth fixing if at all possible.
I guess you already tried resetting it? http://www.kyphoto.com/classics/resetcamera.html Last edited by yokohama; 23-02-17 at 09:27 PM. |

Yeah, I did give that a go but no joy. I also took the top cover off but again, no joy. Will put it back together and pop it in the drawer.

Shutter magnets?? It's about the only other thing I can think of.
BTW, the camera and lens finally arrived from Rocky. Both generally fine so no complaints. The Electro 35 meter works and it fires but in low light, the shutter reacts as if in B mode (in normal light, it's OK). Reading up on this, it sounds like the 'pad of death' issue, which will give me something to do at the weekend. |

I have heard of pad of death through the FPP podcast. Can't remember what you can do about it though. I will have another dig around the camera. Unless you want it for spares?

I read up on the pad last night. Seems there's an easy way and a not so easy way. I'll take the top off and have a look later.

Yep. That's the easy way. I don't fancy taking the lens assembly off. It's my task for a rainy day, which looks like being tomorrow.
AD2 mounts posted out early this morning. |

If you get stuck Yoko I can have a look, but may be later in the year. Can't remember the ins and outs of PoD but Copal shutters are a pig to work on any day of the week!
