Re: Vintage film cameras
Oh I dunno, I think the charity shops down your way are much more productive. I just tried connecting the wires to the battery but no response. Maybe the light meter is dead after all.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Not sure. I took 5mm of insulation off and it seems ok. Will look again another day. That's me done with staring at cameras for today.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Yeah, there is only so long you can stare at small components before it gets tiring. Just been to the SV and while the fuel pump came on it wouldn't fire and just died. Popped it on charge and will take it for a run tomorrow if the weather holds. Everything I have bid on today so far I have lost out on. Found an Olympus MJU of some description in a job lot of old box cameras but was in an area without signal. Got outbid by 1p!

Re: Vintage film cameras
The Mju is a nice camera, an old girlfriend had one of the early zoom versions. The fixed lens versions seem to be going for daft prices on ebay, though not as daft as this. https://www.gumtree.com/p/lenses/min...a-m/1220941451
I feel the need for a Helios to go with the Fujica.. |

Re: Vintage film cameras
???? Why have the put Leica on it? Hoping it will attract more views? That's some serious dosh. You will like the Helios, good bokeh! Probably easier to get it on a Zenit. There are a couple of versions though, one with and one without stop down switch.

Re: Vintage film cameras
No idea why it's advertised as Leica, unless it's a Leica mount but even so, it's still a Minolta/Rokkor lens.
I'll keep an eye out for a Helios or Zenith with one attached. It's stop down metering on the Fujica anyway so I guess the switch wouldn't matter. Hope the weather stays good and the SV starts up tomorrow. I've got work and a late meeting to look forward to. |

Re: Vintage film cameras
Hope so. It seemed pretty grumpy earlier. Hope the fuel leak is fixed, previously if left it would leak but then if run and left a day or so it would be fine. Ultimate test tomorrow. May do some charity shops.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Been playing with the Instax. Quite a fun little thing but won't win any prizes! Sun was out which helped. Found it really hard to frame, a lot of parallax error due to the location of the viewfinder. On the plus side I found another Trip 35 with flash and daylight filter in a charity shop. More interested in the filter but who is to argue when it came with a camera attached!
Close up focus wasn't amazing but I thought it was 30cm-3m but it was 60cm.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Sounds like a good day and the pics look OK for an instant camera.
Did you get out on the bike? |
