Either way it gets mismanaged, and either way the rich get richer.

We don't need nationalisation, we don't need privatisation, we just need to ensure under either system it's run properly. I don't trust either private companies or the gov't to accomplish this.

If you run it for a profit, there's an incentive to make it financially efficient. This generally works but the goal is profit not good service, and you have to allow people to actually make a profit.

If you run it not-for-profit, it gets bloated and inefficient, and public sector staff are more expensive anyway. I suppose at least the workers benefit here - until the government realises how bloated it is, takes steps to correct it and ends up with strikes and bad press.

Or they bring in highly paid "experts" to manage it, which is kinda the same rich 'educated' people on huge salaries, who end up laying off half the staff.

Bit of a no-win really. Definitely not something that's simple to get right.

Yes they do exist.
Just not in the present government.
Jobs for the Boy's (or girls)
Let's privatise by the back door by using sub contact company to employ the worker's the government hac off. eg agency's for nurses and private ambulance service.
And blame the poor and disabled people to divert the story.

Not in the previous one either. Or the one before that.
More examples, quangos, or NDPBs.

My lad is studying Animal Farm at the moment - just remember we're all pigs.

Theoretically possible but it's not gonna happen. I'd go with practically impossible.

Anyway it could be worse... Donald Trump makes us look awesome. Does he have a policy on public transport, I wonder?

A nationalised industry would be run by a bureaucracy.

Pournelle's Iron Law of Bureaucracy states that in any bureaucratic organization there will be two kinds of people":

First, there will be those who are devoted to the goals of the organization. Examples are dedicated classroom teachers in an educational bureaucracy, many of the engineers and launch technicians and scientists at NASA, even some agricultural scientists and advisors in the former Soviet Union collective farming administration.

Secondly, there will be those dedicated to the organization itself. Examples are many of the administrators in the education system, many professors of education, many teachers union officials, much of the NASA headquarters staff, etc.

The Iron Law states that in every case the second group will gain and keep control of the organization. It will write the rules, and control promotions within the organization.
