It's not just tourists you have to worry about, I met an old dear who was almost on my side of the road today, luckily it's a wide road, but she was into the oncoming traffic.

Reminded me of my mum driving on the wrong side of the road and having a prang. They took her license away after that. Luckily only dented cars, no one injured.

Sounds like you could be looking at a bit more than a week off work! I prescribe a hammock in the garden with a few medicinal cold beers!

Grandmother-in-law managed to do the same. She never drove after that although I think she voluntarily stopped. She was fine faculty-wise but her spacial awareness was slipping.

My neighbour across the road however is getting very selfish. She has dementia and he cannot drive due to a knee injury. They still drive (he navigates) but I wish they wouldn't as it's scary to see her just miss things.

I'd report them to the DVLA get them off the road before they kill someone.

Mrs got rear ended by a elderly person driving a C3 he knew he shouldn't have been driving but only "voluntarily" surrendered his licence after he nearly killed 3 people. Insurance tried to claim medical incident which makes it impossible to claim damages. No 3rd party to claim from. Luckily as he'd just come from the hospital to be treated for the condition that caused the incident we were able to prove it was a known problem and he was criminally negligent & still the police didn't prosecute.

Grant, how are the injuries healing? And any progress on the claim yet?

Pretty coloured elbow. Everything still hurts but I can get down the stairs now.

You know that feeling you have about 5 minutes after being hit in the balls, it's like that most of the day.
Tramadol is helping get through the nights.

On the plus side, the other insurance company have admitted 100% liability.
I'll give the insurance a ring tomorrow to see if it's a write off.

Ouch! Hope it eases soon.

What's your guess with the bike, write off or not?

hoping they write it off, don't really trust a bike thats landed on its owner

hitting the front end on the ground in the inverted position can't be a good thing, who knows what issues that might lead to in the future.

just seen this. glad your ok Grant. that could have been a lot worse. saving grace i think was quick reaction of car driver braking.

i always thought that ABS was supposed to stop the rear of the bike lifting off the ground. learn something new every day.

yup that bikes a write off.

mend soon xx

When I looked at the vid it looked to me like the rear lifted when the front struck the car?
