So you're actually measuring the air gap above the oil level then?

C-D-Lion, As far as i'm concerned, the owner being present and learning about their bike is more satisfying than JUST getting a bike dropped off and doing the job. I actually prefer to involve the owners, so they understand the upgrade and why I do things my way. works for me anyway take care Dave |

Now I had been wondering whether I should be doing something with my forks/rear shock n stuff with all this talk for others finding things soft, hard, lumpy, whatever... and me sitting here thinking "But my bike feels OK, but I have no real comparison as all the bikes I ride feel OK".
I was starting to get paranoid that I was missing something really obvious and have riding badly for years without realising it - not letting anyone else really ride my own bikes so nobody could tell me it was crappy... if it was! Is anyone else lost yet? Thanks to Cloggsy and his spring settings post, I am reassured that I don't need to do anything to my bike's suspension... saving me time and money. At 8st 10lbs I am that person that all the Japanese mark their standard settings to! |

Having been Elmered yesterday. the SV is like a different bike, so much more positive in the bends and those annoting little ruts in the road no longer threaten to shake me off.
Now fitted with Ohlins springs, preload adjusters and suspension setup properly.
