Those lights are ridiculous! I went ahead at one stage and my mirrors lit up like two suns! I couldn't even see forward! I just had to wave Phill past straight away. He had something like 40 flashes on the way home?! Phill, sort it, those are proper hooligan.

And now that he can see at night he rides twice as fast, it was a crazy ride home...

Stupid question time. How easy are they to fit? Do you just replace the bulbs and the rest of the gubbins is located outside of the light?

Ha ha. I thought it was a crazy too (so I left you guys to it), and I got wet as it rained again between Oxford and Brackley (second meet in a row!).

Theose lights are chuffing bright and you will never be able to not dazzle people by 'adjusting' them. You have 55 watt, mine are 35 and my reflectors/lenses can't really cope. You got no chance!

Swap the bulb for the standard H4 (or whatever bulb you have). You then wire a relay box to the standard headlight connector and battery (you only need to connect to one, even if you are fitting two lights, and then this operates the ballast(s) - one ballast for each bulb. The balast just ups your 12V to about 20kV and this goes direc t to the bulb. If you opt for a Hi/Lo bulb there is also another connector going from the relay box to the bulb, which is simply a 12V feed that operates a solenoid - Hi/Lo is achieved by moving the buld relative to your reflector.

EDIT - that sounds complicated - it's really not if you have a basic grasp of electronics and can use a cable tie!

What I meant by that is you know the red wire goes to the +VE terminal and the black one goes to the -VE. All the other connectors will only fit together one way so you'd be pushed to go too far wrong...famous last words

I think I vote we do it a bit slower next time. I'm going to drape a towel over Phill's head so he slows down, like what you do to a horse to calm it down.
