Hard to tell with MCN these days............... probably best to assume anything in MCN is boll#cks unless you read it elsewhere too.

MCN has become the Sunday Sport of the motorcycling press, only with less t*ts and bums.

can any riders here comment on how accurate this list really is?

if i were an underhand chief constable with a pathological hatred of everything two-wheeled i may be tempted to continually place the scameras in a position other than that advertised. or am i just being too cynical?!?

Is actually a legal requirement to advise motorists where they will be. All scamera partnerships have to do this. There is a daily ad in the local paper (Daily Post) with the day's routes that will be targetted.

Once you know the scamera van's park up places and the routes they are targetting, easily avoided. Then all you need do is keep eyes peeled for the chopper (like today 'patrolling' the area around Llangollen / Corwen / Bala. We went up onto Denbigh moors and no sign of plod....

We had thr helicopter buzzing around for a lot of today, first it landed behind the Ponderosa, then we had a police car screaming down the road, then the copter took off, saw it later at the Rhug near Corwen. As Mike put it 'they aren't looking for burglars out here'). Every road in North Wales has signs warning of scameras (this is not an exaggeration - you can be in the remotest part and see one of these scamera signs) and then on the way home I had a police car following me along the A525 from Ruthin to Wrexham. Unmarked but obviously police, two woodentops sat in it, and a forest of small aerials. They got bored after a while as I was sat on 55 and they turned off. What an unfriendly place it is.

No idea officer, please, enlighten me.

If they say about my plate (7x5), sorry officer, the plate came with the bike, I've no idea about the law, can you please explain to me why it's illegal? (Just a little test to see if they know the law that they're enforcing)

Make life hard for them to pin anything on you, never admit to anything, unfortunately Mister_c, you were caught dozing.

As Mike said, that site is accurate, and actually, is a bookmark that pop's up on my office computer automagically every day at 5:20. Strange that.

About the 'copter. It's such a bad state of affairs that I can catch a bird flying out of the corner of my eye & do a double take to see if it's the helicopter or not.

Seen a couple of unmarked cars recently round these parts. Don't hold me to it, but an N reg Mondeo (silver), and a 52 plate people carrier in red are but two Oh yea, and lets not forget the nice guy driving the 4x4 (Warrior type) that I undertook over the speed limit
