Not really.

6K for a 96 ! You can find them cheaper. The one i have an eye on is a 2001 for 5000 (it's a biposto though) !

I'd have to agree, I think it's because new models have to make an impact, then after that they tend to be a compromise and are aimed at not ****ing off their customer base and attracting new and different customers.

As I've said to others if just the new shape SV was about when I was looking for another bike (june 02), I think I would have over looked it, which is a shame, because cosmetics can be changed and there's nothing fundimentaly wrong with the new one really.

Cheers Mark

From what i've heard, the SPS is purely intended for the racetrack (like the later 748R). Ducati only made them to be conform with Supersport rules. For a roadbike, they are really unreliable and require rebuilds every 3000 miles or so ! . The 748 Biposto or 748S would be better choises ! So be glad you didn't buy the SPS

the 600, I love the looks and the fact that it's a little bit rarer than the R6's and Ninja's you see everyday (no offense Lee ).

I'd love the new 749 Dark but won't want to put it through the scottish weather! oh, and insurance might be a problem.....

Do you know that the Daytona is now a 650 and not a 600 in order for it to compete with the Japanese bikes?

Steve, I read that in Bike this month too. They increased the stroke I think to make better midrange, I'd love one.

As I believe I've said once or twice before
Although the professional press says over and over again that the 749 is a better bike then the 748, I preferred the 748 over the 749. Nothing beats the Tambourini design !!! I just LOVE that single side swinger, and that piece of art at the back (i think they call it an exhaust on most other bikes)

I think the press is payed for by Ducati to help the public forget the Tambourini design and excuse Ducati for the hidious Terblanche design. Shame on Ducati ! Shame
Despite how much I would want the 999R, I am inclined to agree with Cloggsy. The 998 Final Edition is, by far, the most beautiful motorcycle I have ever seen.

I'd love a 748, but only as a toy bike... Why can't Ducati design a bike and then get Honda to build it?

Yesterday at Knockhill there was a guy who, after leaving his 749 in the ****ing rain for half an hour, was already taking it for granted that it wouldn't wok properly when he went back to it... But still, nice bike
