Quite right too. As dangerously incompetent as she was, there was no malice behind her actions, where as this guy is obviously a 'tard.

There are some seriously inappropriate sentences being dished out, but that's not a good comparison.

Maybe it was because he looks like a serial killer?
That must be it

But his description of traffic being very light I would say was spot on I think he's got more on his mind than specifics, he's trying to convey an impression of conditions.
I did notice that just after he was off siding across double white lines, he was offsiding before 'the video camera' could see the road to be clear

But Road Wars where someone has stolen the vehicle & therfore obviously not insured & is evading the Police seem to be community service orders. Point to note, don't look like a serial killer without enough common sense to insure your bike if you intend to ride it while disqualified

Your recall is correct, apparently she was an upstanding member of the medical community with friends in high places, nothing to do with her sentence of course

I agree that other offences have received a lesser sentence etc. but this guy was being followed by the police for whatever reason and he showed his guilt by not stopping and to drive at the alleged 130mph was just digging a big hole for himself.

Probably see him in the news again doing the same thing when he gets out of the clink.

He did not get jailed for speeding, no-one ever does because speeding is not an offence that carries a custodial sentence. He got jailed for the other associated offences like driving whilst disqualified and dangerous driving etc.

If you ever get nicked for these sorts of speeds never ever admit to the dangerous driving charge, because it's that one which will see you behind bars.

I do wish people would get their facts right

More details (but no video) here:

http://www.thisiswiltshire.co.uk/dis...ker_jailed.php

For many years I lived in Trowbridge, next to Devizes. Often
used to go for rides around Devizes. Wonderful place to ride a bike.
Watching the video brought all the memories back (though I never had
a police car on my tail).

I lived in Eastbourne Road, Trowbridge for a year in 1983/84. Peewees Real Ale Bar was the place to drink back then, if you were a biker.

What did Joe get? Nothing like as much - I think he was banned for 3 years and a whacking great fine but he wasn't disqualified at the time. The last DD charge against this bloke was many years ago. I think it's too harsh, I'd appeal against sentence.

EDIT - just seen this. This bloke killed someone and got a measly fine. The sentencing system is in a complete mess.

I lived in Trowbridge much later, from 1999 to 2006. Don't think the
bar you mention still exists.

Now the nearest meeting place for local bikers is the Red Lion in
Avebury. The poor sod who got nicked might have been returning from
there, judging by his route.

Agreed. Although clearly he's a knob and fully deserves never sharing the roads with you and me again.

But then I'd lock up the copper that was following - his driving is simply reckless.
