Re: Tyres
It's called CYA, cover your ass, after 100 miles there should be no doubt the tyres are good for riding, just the garages and tyre companies making sure they don't get sued.

Re: Tyres
Ride in Ride out all fitted for 203. From the posts that I read above it would seem that I could have got them cheaper from the guy, but to be fair he stayed late to get my tyres fitted and did a great job with them so I don't feel ripped off.

Re: Tyres
I have been riding on the Avon Storm ST tyres all winter and so far they seem to get the job done.
soon as we get really warm weather I will probably change them out as I am told they dont survive hot weather well |

Re: Tyres
According to the guy that fits my tyres, Gary from G&S Tyres, they are fine in the hot weather. He says they last about the same as the BT021's do through summer. We shall see in the coming months but I've been on a few brisk rides and they seem to work fine so far.

Re: Tyres
Ah well, they are also advertised as endurance tyres. If they only last as long (on average) as 021's, I wouldn't class that as a long life tyre. This leads me to think that warm dry tarmac is going to eat them quite quickly.

Re: Tyres
021s are meant to be sports touring tyres, so shouldn't wear out too quickly. Though, frankly, I regard anything more than 2000 miles from a set as a long life.
