Re: A horrible situation
The Met have exceeded my wildest expectations: Theft reported at 6pm on the 19th, letter posted on the 20th declaring the investigation closed. They didn't even bother getting in touch with building security to ask about CCTV footage.
Paperwork and keys went off in the post today, hopefully the insurers won't muck me about too much. And then I can go shopping for an SV. Insult to injury or what?

Re: A horrible situation
I bought my 2004 K4 for £1600 from eBay three weeks ago, 17k miles.
Ebays always a bit of a risk but I went on gut feeling about the seller and met him at his work. Turned out to be a really nice bloke and I've not looked back. |

Re: A horrible situation
Both my RGV and ZX7R came from ebay, both fine.
Asking prices on eBay are crazy at the moment. Hilariously so.

At least with EBAY sales, if it isn't 'as described' you can walk away.

Re: A horrible situation
Just had the settlement offer from the insurers, looks like I've got two grand or so to put towards the replacement.
Which may not be an SV650 after all (phew!) Having sworn not to get another scrote-magnet KTM, I've kinda sold myself on a new scrote-magnet KTM 990SMT. It's the perfect time of year for a test ride...

Re: A horrible situation
And indeed it was - I think I've found my new toy. Got a couple of phone calls to make and I might be picking up a new bike on my birthday.

Re: A horrible situation
Give or take a few days - it wasn't quite ready in time.
