The is remap software that gets close to the pc but its still limited by the restraints of the std ecu and works the same as the yosh box, just with finds parameters. |

Loads, but IMO youll have to spend that much dyno time to actually make use of that extra adjustment that you might as well just buy a gixxer

PLEASE refrain from swearing on the forums ![]() Im not interested in an IL4 tbh. WHEN will i need to rev an engine like that is my thoughts. ![]() What im looking for is more midrange and getting an IL4 will reduce it so no thanks. |

You're not going to get that much more grunt out of an SV without seriously silly tuning, like big bore kits etc.

Depends on the IL4, you really think your SV has more mid range power the an R1, a 10R a Blade or GSXR thou ?

I have the problem of reach (short legs) so most bigger bikes are difficult, the SV thou was tip toes for me! I really like the SV650, but i want some more midrange on it, thats all, the top end is enough to break the law and enough to keep up with an SV thou to 120, which is enough for me. ![]() This is a comparison of the V-twin and the IL4. (I stole the dyno from laser exausts...) this shows what im trying to say. Where do you ride normally? Not above 10k rpm im guessing. ![]() Considering the IL4 is probably more tuned than the SV the SV shows its stuff well. If i knew for certain the laser 2-2 system did this id be very tempted. ![]() |

See this is what I just dont understand, you buy and SV, then and exhaust, then and filter then a few hours on a Dyno, then a power commander to set it all up, perhaps some more dyno work, then you mod the suspension...
How much does that all cost... I bet if you added it up, you could have bought a bike with more power, more midrange, and that stops better than your SV does. It to me just doesnt make financial sense, unless your purely doing it because you like fiddling then fair enough.. I dont. You sure ? looks like a power curve for the same bike with different exhaust on it, rather than a comparision of two different bikes... Depends. Most of the time no not over 10K, but if I'm having fun its between 6 and 9, if I get a bit carried away then around the 10 to 12K mark, but I have been known to regularly check if the rev limiter is working ![]() Don't get me wrong its an brilliant bike and I really enjoyed my two years on mine, I just dont think its worth spending money on to get more power / midrange out of it, I think its more cost effective just to change bikes.

There is a pink line there below the SV... have another look
![]() About the cost. Well exhaust is gunn be bought for pretty much any bike i get, so is a air filter... So they are kinda standard issue i guess. PC will be about £250 setup not sure £60-80 maybe. Forks, about £300 for all the front end of a gixxer onc breaks and wheel. £300 for a decent rear shocker. All in about £1000 if im unlucky... The other great thing is weight. It is about the same weight as a gixxer 6. If i went for a bigger V-twin it would weight a lot more. I guess i like tinkering ![]() ![]() Last edited by ThEGr33k; 25-11-07 at 07:23 PM. |
