cars on bricks that haven't moved in ages
rocks & half-bricks lying around on street corners.
Loads of dog dirt etc

LOL just kidding ya cheeky git!

Houses have settees on the driveway so that we can sit and watch the neighbours 50" plasma telly, and so that we can protect our property

Huge satellite dishes are for watching the HUGE football teams we have in this part of the world

Random dogs roaming the streets are usually wearing too much "slap" and Ug boots with those god-awful "new" shell-suits and too much jewellery

A car on bricks is unlikely to move anywhere until giro day

But why spend money on a new set of wheels when:
(i) you can always just go and nick someone elses
(ii) you only have "limited funds" and Bargain Booze is much more inviting than the breakers yard

The only dog-poo I see is that which plays at Old Trashford

Oh and the rocks and half-bricks aren't JUST on the street corners, they are up and down many derelict streets ... usually being held together with big aluminium doors and "windows" and sprayed with the words "Gas/Electricity Off"

EDIT: I give you ... The Capital of Culture 2008

As I said it "helps you figure out" it's a guideline. As opposed to written in stone.

But....Do they also have one of those oh-so-hilarious pretend Santas attached to an outside window?

hmm, excuse th derail but on a theme here: I have a points system for figuring out good vs bad neighbourhoods, for example:

+1: coffee shops such as Starbucks/Nero/Costa
-1: Fast food: MaccieD's, KFC, etc
-2: "Other-"style chicken outlets, excessive amounts of shoe shops
