I can recommend a few places to watch from if you need but at Oulton there are plenty. You'll be able to ride to some of the further away spots. Lodge corner is awesome, you can get real close to the racing there. Turn 1 for thrills and spills on lap 1! Outer section at Knickerbrook is superb although can be a trek to get to. Inner part of druids corner or just before the entry to it can be good. You're spoilt for choice! I take the weather forecasts with a pinch of salt until the day as it changes so fast but currently its set for sunny with light showers.......changed already, now shows cloudy with light occasional rain showers.........and now (Thursday) it shows mainly cloudy with sunshine, no rain. I reckon these guys make it up as they go along ![]() Last edited by flymo; 10-04-08 at 03:21 PM. |

Sadly no
![]() James checked entry and I think its £12. It costs me about £130 to enter for the day though! You get a lot of races to watch though, classics, powerbikes, 600s, sidecars, formula 400/minitwins etc. Its a good day usually. |

![]() Also, if you want to see any SV's racing that might be cutting things a little fine. Depends on stoppages but I dont think the second minitwins/f400 race will be much later than that, maybe 3pm or 3:30pm. The first one will be around 11:20 so you'll deffo miss that. Plenty of other racing on though. Last edited by flymo; 11-04-08 at 09:33 AM. |

Right, I'm leaving for Oulton. See you there if you're coming along.

Came down late but luckily caught the 1st race from Knickerbrook due to the holdups
![]() Watched the rest from Lodge but had to leave just after the sidecars so missed the 2nd 400/minitwins outing ![]() Good days racing though! enjoyed it and looking forward to the BH weekend biggie coming up. Forgot your bike No! the dude who won the twins was a proper flyer but looking at your No, wasnt you was it. Had a quick scoot round the paddock to see if i could spot an SV but the only one i saw was the yellow pointy keeping mine company parked outside the cafe. Last edited by Durbs; 12-04-08 at 06:53 PM. Paul who won the twins class is pretty quick yes, I dont hang around either but in my defense I'm new to the bike and havent had a dry track to run it on yet! Today was a racing nightmare day! Had a great time but the weather was about as unpredictable as it could get. I was pretty unlucky with the first race, when I made my way to the start area I thought 'crap' I'm the ONLY one on inters. Everybody around me on full wets and the track looked pretty damp with standing water. So, we pootled around on the sighting lap and there was a dry line emerging......YESSS! So two laps in I'm flying past all sorts on the proper tyres for the conditions and bam! the guy in front of me highsides in Shell hairpin like 2 meters from my front wheel. I was hard on the anchors and only just missed him. Behind me it was mayhem and I seriously thought I was away and gone. They red flagged the race and ran it after lunch (the bit you saw I guess). Only then it was bloody raining proper and all I had was inters on. I was sliding all over the show and came in 3rd in class. Race 2 was much better, I got a superb start into turn 1. 'Toadie' (the other minitwin rider) passed me a few laps in and I couldnt regain the ground, he was just faster than me on the day. It was good practice though and I feel much more comfortable on the bike. The only problem I still have is the rear shock, its terrible under race conditions after about 3 laps. The front starts pogoing in fast sweeping bends and thats not good. My Ohlins shock is on order and sods law says that it'll arrive Monday ![]() Last edited by flymo; 12-04-08 at 07:22 PM. |

Aye, the conditions after lunch were pretty dire, got well and truly p1ssed on watching your first race. Wierd day weather wise, bright sun one minute, sleet the next, the joys of British racing. Didnt realise the first race had been red flagged.
Respect due anyway, watching that today, i'd love to have a crack at racing but fancying it and actually having the balls to actually get out and do it are a different thing! |
