I just hate estates - who cares who owns them! They're all too high density for me, but I can't afford a place in the country, even a small one. I'd love to live up on the moors ... ... ... (carries on dreaming)

I live on a council estate and the one good thing to say about it is 24hour CCTV!!!

My folks did live on the moors, well edge of the trough of Bowland. It meant dad had to keep a land rover in the garage for those 20 days a year when the snow blocked the roads. They had to have a diesel generator for those 5 days a year (usually christmas eve, to new years day) when there was no electricity.

They were robbed, despite having a monitored alarm as their nearest manned police station is over 15 miles away, they pay heavy rates due to having a 6 bedroom house but no buses, no library, no leisure centres, no street lighting , no internet , no gas , no sewers etc.

Yes they have plenty of peace and quiet, but sod all services

Where abouts in 'The Pool' are you from Speedy? I know of a few decent areas, I am just wondering.

My general dream is to live somewhere with a garage.

Live in Crosby.. did have a garage up until last September but moved about 10 mins up the road and new house doesn`t have one...... and I must admit I miss it

Ah right. Crosby is a nice place. I met someone in Southport who says Stamps is now generally a biker gaff?

To be honest haven`t been in Stamps for a few months tho its about 3 mins walking distance of my house. Not sure bout it being a biker gaff but they do have lots of live bands on and it always tends to be rock music.
