Morning all.

As embee has done, the YTZ12 Honda battery is good value at £50, as it's a Japanese made Yuasa in drag! Just make sure you rub a crayon over the Honda logo before fitting it..

Some Honda dealers have been known to charge more for them, tell 'em to stuff it if they try!
The Honda part number is; 31500-MCF-643.

As far as I'm aware the only Honda that takes a YTZ14 is the St1300 Pan European, I shall obtain a price for one for comparisons sake.

Interestingly, a Yuasa YTZ12 form the official importers costs me £63 inc VAT!! & they wonder why they don't sell many.

Cheers.

OK it's for a curvy but when I looked mine up inHalfords it was ?65. So I got an anonymous one form the bike shop, already sealed etc. for around ?40 (think it was ?39 but can't remember). TBH in my experience the cheap ones are just fine.

Yep battery is sorted....got another problem......I've got petrol dripping/running out of the overflow pipe. Sticky float or needle me think's, ran it yesterday for the first time in 3 weeks. I cured the drip with an 8mm bolt...not ideal, but it runs fine. And stuck some Redex fuel system cleaner in the tank, hopfully this will work its magic. I should be good for tomorrow still.

Not good mate if it's leaking it could possibly drop a lot of fuel into the engine. Have seen a crankcase filled before by this exact bodge!

Yeo the pipe near the clutch cover plate.

My oil level has not gone up......and I'll be keeping an eye on it today.

The bike was a bit iffy to start....only running on 1 for a few minutes....me thinks the carb is flooded....but yesterday, it started cleanly on both after being left standing over night.

If it's still leaking after todays Graffham to Sunny Hunny ride...then I'll be stripping everything back to find the source.
