Just as a matter of interest, where did your dad live, and how long ago?

BB.
hahaha then you know that its rocketfuel...lol
My dad worked on Jeddah airport, Riyadh airport and Riyadh Uni, he had 3000 multinational peeps working under him at one stage, hes as mad as a box of ffrogs, and has many a tale from those days, could entertain you for hours. He left shortly before the warfare in Kuwait. It was hard in them days cause we didn't see him for six months at a time, but the tall tales soon made us forget he'd been gone a while.....especially the gin ones

Must have been around the same time then...many stories too...

I remember arriving in Saudi - must have been in the house about half an hour, when there was a knock at the door - was a chap from Round Table, took us to the local supermarket (interestingly enough was a Safeway), and proceeded to put 10 cases of Barbican lager (alcohol free of course), 2 dustbins, 20 kilos of sugar and some yeast into the trolley (no food I might add)....

Got home and started brewing for us....

I knew from then it would be an interesting 5 years!

Sorry for the de-rail, but it turned out to be an ok brew from what i remember...

I distinctly remember my dad with a brewing bin sat on a dining chair, warming it up in front of the gas fire...he sat babysitting for hours, my mum thought he was bonkers. My gran is from Germany so you can imagine they like a bit of Schnapps, my grandad was blathered the first time he had any of that Jeddah stuff.......said it blew any schnapps out of the water....lol

Ahhh homebrew...such fun

Anyone who's comes up to Scotland is more than welcome to drop in and pay a visit, room in the garage aslong as you don't mind the dogs- could squeeze you in with them overnight-lagers on brew at the moment, then a heavy, and a cider -gonna be a good summer no matter what the weather gods bring

I just posted on this! Search is my friend I know.....

I've done a couple from the local homebrew shop. They came out very good! I used old plastic lemonade bottles but have now got too many bottles to count so will taste what's on offer in Sainsbury's and go and see my man to see what he can match my favourite up with.

What's wrong with plastic bottles anyway? Nothing wrong with having to finish a 2 litre bottle in one!

What was the T for in the few bottles on the left? Test?

If I make a really good one I might get a car driver to ferry it to the AR for me.
