Gotta disagree with you there 100%
His best skill is kicking a ball around a field, but its something he does better than most people in the world. Whatever your disapline for that alone any person deserves massive credit. He may not be the brightest spark, but then again as someone who has admited to missing school most of his life in order to play football then this would be expected.
People seem far too keen to take a sports personality down from their well paid ped-a-stool and Beckham seems to be the focus of most of this negative pressue. But how quickly people seem to ignore that since becoming an international superstar he has taken classes and comes across far more intelligent than most other spotlight hero's.

I have maximum respect for him for one simple reason, any person who can take the abuse him and his family took for what he did in 1998 to turn it around and by the next world cup be the captain of the national side, I do doff my cap to them. He showed his worth in taking all the flack and using it as motivation to do better, sort him self out and become a national icon - correction international icon.

One more thing;
Focus your self to work hard in school, get the grades to sit behind a desk earning 40k/yr until your in your 70's.
or
Focus your self on improving one of your skills, to live in a dream world earning 100k/week and been retired by the time your 40?
hmmmmm Who's the idiot?

Not at all, all quite deliberate

I was reading the 'Paging Becks' thread and this one showed in related threads at the bottom of the page- I didn't comment on it at the time but wanted to express my heartfelt thoughts about that good lady's appearance, hence the words 'that bird is fit'

I did wonder how long it would be before someone commented 'Holy thread resurrection Batman!'

Oh and +3 to the respect for Beckham, he's a legend and I really hope he gets picked for the squad next Summer - people can say what they like about him but there's still no-one better for pinpoint passing and crosses. Nobody else can so deeply penetrate the box with his balls like he does

Definitely not +4 for Becks.

No way would I want to earn in excess of £100k per week. Live in a huge house, travel the world, meet interesting people (mandela), and be brilliant at football.

I much prefer having a mortgage, trying to get the kids thro' uni, buy 2nd hand rattling cage for the wife, not buy my favourite bike/helmet/jacket.

Aye, i've got my feet firmly planted in relative poverty.
