Exactly!!

I generally don't go wandering around the shops. I decide what I want, go out, get it & come home.

I can easily do a weekly shop in 20mins flat (including queuing at the tills). I know what I need to get, and I know where in the supermarket it is. One trip down each isle is all that's required.

My other half, takes 3hours+ to do the shopping. That's if she's not with the kids!! With the kids, they get bored, she gets stressed, and everything takes even longer.

I'm exactly the same for clothes etc though, I know what I want/need to buy, so I go to the shop that sells what I'm after. If I see something I like that'll fit me, quick try it on, then buy & home. If I don't see something immediately on display, and it's not an essential buy, I come home without buying.

I paid £1.30 more buying, A dairy milk bar, a turkish delight bar and a tub of pringles when bought from Sainsburys, compared to when I buy them from Asda.

So yes I look at prices

I tend to look at the price of how much it is by the kg or ltr, this will tell me the ture cost, plus it all so tells me if its to cheep and nasty.
NB this only works on food and drinks not bikes

Indeed, I HATE paying more for exactly the same product/s ...

In true BBC manner, 'other main brands are available too'

I tried 'value' washing up liquid before and it was a joke, but to be honest, I find little difference between normal own-brand liquid and main brand Fairy/Persil etc etc .. at the end of the day who do you think make the washing up liquid for ASDA/Tescos etc etc ...

Therefore I don't buy 'value' type stuff as it is ineffective and false economy, but I don't see the need to buy main brand as it doesn't give enough benefit over own-brand. Now I could afford the extra 30p (or whatever) for the Fairy (which IS going to be the same if not slightly better than own brand), but I can't stop myself from thinking that way!!

I`m with Baph on this one , one of my ex Girlfriends used to buy things like "Hello" and "Chat" and "Gossipy Harridan Fishwifery" or other such Horror magazines for women , she would stop at the wall inside the door of whatever supermarket was our favourite at the time . I would actually be wheeling the stuff out of the door (shopped and paid for) before she`d even made her choice of which detestable magazine she wanted . I`d mither her for the keys to the car and be loaded up and done . People have been known to throw themselves to one side as I come around the corner with a suicidal supermarket shopping trolley on 2 wheels .

The best thing about it is , I got shopping cheaper , quicker and it lasted longer than when she went and got stuff which seemed to evaporate mere seconds after getting through the door . I agree that Value stiff is just plain Cack and isn`t really value in the long run , you can get better for a few pence more . I only really look at price if it`s a major purchase , then a few minutes on the web usually brings up a satisfactory price and a purchase is made . I don`t spend too long on it all as I`m a dab hand at finding cheap prices very quickly .

I'm a right tight stingy bugger!

So much so that before I buy ANYTHING off the net, (when it's already at its lowest price,) I'll always try and find a free discount code to use for either £5 or 10% off!!!
Have managed to get some right bargins over the years!
