When I was a kid, I used to like Land of Hope & Glory, Rule Britannia, Jerusalem and Scotland the Brave. These days, I'm a bit jaded and cynical about such things.

I've been known to belt out "Land of my Fathers" many a time, every time there's the tingle down my spine and a tear in the eye. Cant say the same about "God Save.." its such a dirge (sp!). The English should drop it as its not exclusive to them it doesnt bind the country together. "Jerusalem" is far too arrogant and "Land of Hope and Glory" is laughable! Britain should find a better one - I like "I vow to thee my country".

Last time I sung Jerusalem was at a funeral, (aside from the fact that it sticks in most Welshmans throats), there was only me and the vicar singing, my heritage forced me to sing on with gusto, even if I'm always just off tune.

I also kinda like La Marseillaise (That's the French National Anthem ).

IMO the English God Save the Queen is dull as sh'te.
