They're a pain to fix. Nothing is easy to get at on the F650 GS. Just about any job involves removing loads of fairings/panels.

Eg: An oil & filter change involves draining 3 separate areas (including taking the left hand panel off to get to the oil tank in the faux petrol tank).

There are very few "5 minute jobs" - replacing the rear light bulb is the only one I can think of!

As for changing the spark plugs.....that was a complete pain, involving taking off the seat & the panels and the air intake watchamacallit.

To complete my World trip, I'll probably be looking at the Suzuki DR400.

For now, once I get the Beemer back I'll be on the look out for a gixxer 600 or similar (K1 model or later).

Jeebus, i'l let my dad know, he;s been looking at BMW's

k1 gixxer's are brilliant, its what my old man had before his current 750.

That raptop is hideous! I just can't see it at all! I'd rather have a Honda cub!

And yeah, BMW bikes are so unreliable it's amazing they can charge what they do for them.

Hidieous? or is cause its manly looks make you run for cover, cause its a bit of an animal....... its definelty not a gay bike....lol

I feel guilt after commuting on my ZX7R this morning I need my SV back - speeds just too high.

I already HAVE a Scooter (a 7 year old tatty lump).......and I use it wayyyyyyyy more than my 2 month old SV

Am thinking of selling the SV to get a new Scooter (for the commute).....and also a Blackbird (for fun)
