Have you taken the fork caps off yet Drag? Somebody may have already used spacers to add some preload.

Yea peter, i stuck new spring and oil in recently in my 01 and there's the standard spacers there, but again there hollow, gonna have to come up with some thing to sit on top of them

They are just round discs. No holes at all. Tell 'em you want them for under the preload adjusters and you'll get the right ones.

When you come to fit your adjusters, with new washers, you will find your spacer tube is too long, you will need to cut that down by about 13mm.

TBH, unless you are either crash dieting/binge eating or carrying pillions. Once set up correctly, you never need to adjust the sag (That is all the preload does).

So whilst you are going to all the effort of fitting new adjusters. Put in decent springs designed for English and not Japanese riders. and a higher viscosity oil to aid the damping
