All the stuff on there is rather extreme. However I do believe that Christian fundamentalism is on the rise. I know a Christian vet who disbelieves in evolution. The local Anglican church, where we used to worship, was always a bit evangelical. That suited me OK. But then it started getting increasingly charismatic, I didn't like all the visions and prophesying, and strangers suddenly laying hands and praying in loud voices, so we have voted with our feet. I feel sad about it: I feel driven out, and we have yet to find another Church that really suits, but no way could I out up with some of the superstitious claptrap. Many of the Anglican churches in this town are similar, so much so that it's no longer Anglicans who attend but disaffected Barnabas people, house church folks, etc. Fundamentalism is pretty much the next stop.

I mis-read that as 'banana's' people
![]() Maybe my brain was pointing out it should have said that, on second thoughts ![]()

you mean mystical, although mythical is probably more appropriate
![]() i guess you could say i'm a fairly hardcore skeptic, i'm not anti-religion per se, it's none of my business if people want to believe in magic or invisible friends, but if you look at the cause of conflicts in this world they are generally about three things: money, power or who's god is right, and the third provides a great cover for the first two...

It's people who cause wars, occasionally using religion as an excuse. I don't read anywhere in the New Testament that Jesus told people to wage war against people who are not Christian. War is nothing to do with religion, it's to do with greed. |
