just to update those who offered kind words: the surgery today was a 100% success, the test results on the lump will be back next week but it's looking good from here
best wishes to anyone else going through something similar, and hopefully you'll get a good result too

THey do wonders with those things these days. My dad had throat cancer when he was 44. Mum breast cancer last year. Both 100% clear bill now. It will be ok. As far as she belives that she can beat it she will!
