Well I can provide a product review.......
The shorts, are comfy and can be worn in place of pants if you wear boxers. The padding round your behind also makes sitting on the pointy seat more comfy. The only down side of the knee armour is that the straps do get sweaty and I have excema, so it iritates a little. But for AR am thinking of cutting the the bottoms off some old rugby socks and putting them up on my knees and then the armour on.

I have a pair of J&S kevelar pants which are my only bike pants atm..
Chep and cheerful at £50 but they seem to do the job, and I have no fear of riding hard waring them, Plenty of kevelar in them but I might well invest in some of that strap on armour? |

They're good for a quick trip to town and if you want to look more casual, but for a nice blast in the country or a day long trip, then the leathers give more protection and more confidence. |

My mate wears knee armour like that motocross one over his trousers, have you tried that? Wouldn't get so sweaty then.

had a pair of draggin jeans for a while now and prefer them to leathers in the hot weather. not put them to the test yet and dont intend to. bought the velcro knee armour and not happy with it, too much movement so never in the right place and uncomfortable.
only a+b roads mind choose not to wear them on the motorway. one thing i've found out, leathers stick my behind to the seat, denim slide around. |

I;ve got a pair of Hein Gericke jeans... not sure how protective they are really. But the Hiprotec armour is ideal for jeans as it's so thin and flexible, I'm aware it's there but it's not intrusive, and not very visible. I mainly wear these for riding my pushbike and they don't interfere at all with the pedalling action, which shows how little impact the armour has... But it's all CE armour.
