Mind you perhaps in a way it was a nice change, as the SRX he has been using is wellllllllllll, realllly pooooo, but that accelerates like cack off a stick..lol
However the Raptor is a bit of an animal at times.
He does jump on and off different bikes at the drop of a hat, so perhaps things don't get noticed as much as if you were used to just one bike
Indeed, I reckon that might have a part to play...since the SV I've only really ridden ~600cc IL4s (I include a 750 in that) so they're all "relatively" similar. I suppose it would be the same if I went back to try a 125 again

Is like me trying to have a go on YCs nakid. I borrowed it pre gixer front end...it were ok s'pose.
Then tried it with new front end....it were awful
had a go on the one hes selling, with emulators, different can different set up entirely, and I didn't want to give it back, apart from it felt awkward as hell( cause I don;t and can't really ride nakid ones) I'm sure it was faster than mine or Ycs first bike....lol

I have been using my duke for the last 6 months and last week i rode my SV for the first time since before christmas. It had a service got new tyres and was ready to go, What an eye opener.... The acceleration was, well i wouldn't say slow but it did seem to take an age to get up to speeds that i am used to getting to in a blink of an eye. The brakes have nearly caused me to bin it a couple of times. The braking point on a corner i know very well on my journey to work is about 100 yards extra, i sit on the bike with a hand ful of brake and have time for a prayer before the thing slows me down enough to make the corner.

Know don't get me wrong i love my SV but i never remember all these things being like this before. I'm sure that now i'm back on it everything wil slot back into place and i'll ride in an appropriate way for the bike. I just think i've been spoiled.

I cant compair going from a SS600 as I havnt had a real good go on a ss600 Only like a mile... Doh. N' I cant compair going from current bike back to the SV as the SV is still off the road (just cant be arsed insuring both...).

I can however say what I thought to the Falco when I first give it some Gas. It was a miserable misty wet night in Feb and I went to the local by pass. I rode like a pussy as the back suspension wasnt very well setup at all (like a bouncing castle!) and the front brakes needed the warped disc's replacing - the last owner had left it covered all winter with something leaning on the disc's... noob - got off of a roundabout and though lets see what ive got myself here (I bought without test ride... glad I dont regret!) 2nd gear 30 MPH about 4K rpm I give it about half throttle, instantly the wheel spins (wet minging cold weather). I think OH ****, this is silly. Took me a week to get used to how it pulled your arms off if you didnt brace yourself. I still get scared of full throttle in first gear, just asking for one wheel action... as low as 3Krpm, silly bike.

Corners, in flickability I didnt notice a massive difference to be honest... the SV is deffo more flickable but not by massive amounds but the SV cant hold a line or adjust the line like this bike can, after I lost the bouncing caste effect, how the last owner rode it like that, he was much bigger than me too !?

Brakes wise, once the disc's and pads were replaced and run in there was NO comparison! These 320mm 4 pod brembo callipers really stop the bike dead. AMAZING.

Fun factor. I gotto say being able to thrash the SV to go places while not braking the law (too much) was a LOT of fun. So to be honest the fact that the SV is slow (in comparison to SS600 and bigger twins etc) doesnt really take anything away from the bike.

IMO with better suspension and brakes and maybe 10 more BHP a SV could be a perfect fun bike.

Glad you were laughing - I really didnt mean that to be taken in any way other than the joke it was (hence the NotW "url")

I spot the difference every time I ride another bike and then go back to the SV, even if I've only ridden the other bike for a couple of hours. Oddly enough, the SV felt most different to the F800 GS I rode a few months back. In comparison, it felt cripplingly uncomfortable, very low to the ground, poor brakes and slow to accelerate. 2 hours more riding on the SV and it felt normal again and I didn't miss the advantages of the beemer too much.
