That's pretty shabby. Definitely need to have a word - if only to get 'em to sharpen up their act. Would also want payment for the new parts etc.

As has been said go in there politely and explain what has happened and how it is their fault. Say you would like the problem fixed and discuss the possibility of a partial refund due to shoddy workmanship.

If they refuse to help or sort it out o state it’s not their fault, remind them that bad word of mouth can destroy a business and that you shall be writing to all the motorcycle publications to let them know about their shoddy work and the unwillingness to help resolve a problem they caused.

wont and don't go back. Kawasaki in Bristol are far better (and cheaper!)
You sure you weren't being over sensitive regards them picking on your bike?

Only been to JHS once, pleased with service and enjoyed the chat/chats we had regards my bike and bikes in general
Everybody forgets to tighten something up once in a while. Sounds like you were just unlucky that it was your something.

Expalin nicely about it, don't go in there ranting and raving/demanding refunds or you'll just be shown the door.

As you've left their premisis, as far as they're concerned its nothing to do with them now, so if you're polite it might make them more willing to offer some kind of apology.
Crap!

This isn't a bit of damage they may have caused... this was incompetance noticed on the journey immediately following the work.

Don't be complacent, if this caused your front wheel to lock, or you were unable to brake when necessary, this could have easily killed you - no problem.

As Davido says, be calm, explain the problem and don't let them take its seriousness lightly. It is a very significant failure in process and their professional ability - you paid money for this work to be done. Go straight to a manager or supervisor - back your complaint up in writing.

I only know JHS through their website, I've never used them, so I can't make any further comment. But it goes without saying that the above would apply to any outfit - reputation good or bad.

No, I was enquiring about servicing and air filters, didn’t get a straight answer (so I went and lerneded on here and got a decent answer! ).

Then he went out to my bike and just mocked it as it didn’t have the super sticky tyres on it and didn't have a M4 and bla bla....

Sure they are good for racing but I didn't want to race so I poped off to Kawasaki and got a full service done!

Mind you this was many years ago now….

That is slack. You paid them to take the wheel off and put them back on again. How can they miss something like that, its double-triple check time, very dangerous if not done. I'd be angry.

Right, I've calmed down abit, went in this morning, the big chief came out and couldn't apologise enough, I was expecting -

"Sorry about that but what can I do except make sure it doesn't happen again?"

Instead he seemed really concerned, asked what I was upto at that time, then said to go home, he'll get straight in his van and come pick the bike up.. Sort it out himself and deliver the bike back to me..

Fair play, it took about an hour in total. Well done JHS and thanks for sorting it.

I normally take the wheels off and in the car to Protyre but thought I'd get a bit used to it before taking it apart, and they couldn't fit me in until the next day afternoon and I needed the bike for the morning, the brakes are a really different set up to what I'm used to.. Having said that Protyre's mess up fairy always does mine and never hammers the sprocket in fully when they do the rear wheel, they are the reason I own a rubber mallet ; )

Glad it's fixed... Did he just put it right or did he do anything more to cover the inconvenience/risk?
